Charlie is a Michigan native and a graduate of CHS, Alma College and Southern Methodist University. It was during his time at Alma (Go Scots!) when he met his wonderful wife, Carlie. They were married on the family farm in Tustin, and lived in Dallas, TX for 11 years. After having their first son, Graham, they realized their desire to raise their family in Northern Michigan and be closer to family. After moving back to Cadillac in 2020, they had their second son, Maddox. Charlie is now in his 5th year serving as the Band Director for CAPS and is loving being back in some of the classrooms where he first learned music as well as teaching alongside some of his former teachers! Beyond sharing his passion for music with his students, Charlie enjoys reading, roller coasters, camping, baseball, being a husband and father, spending time with family, and continuing to perform musically whenever possible. He is hoping that his experience with music will translate to his feet on the dance floor!
